Sunset Community Association Strategic Plan 2013-2017

Zumba Sundays
10:15-11:15am $13/drop in
Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin and International
rhythms with easy to follow moves to create a dynamic
workout system that is a “feel happy”workout - both great for the body and the mind.

 

Yogalates
Mondays 6:15-7:15pm $16/drop in
Yogalates is a movement system that combines yoga
and pilates

 

 

FREE Workshop
Dancing for Parents and children from 0-5yrs

Thursday May 16 9:30-10:30 am
You and your child are invited to dance and practice open improvisation with the Foolish Operations Ensemble. Families get inspired with fun ways to cultivate focus on the joy of movement. We will be fortunate to have Mark Haney, a double bassist, playing music for us!

Taste of the World Luncheon-Japan
Come with us on a culinary adventure as we taste some
of the finest cuisine from around the world
Tuesday May 21 11-1 pm $6/person

 
 

Something Collective, the Artists-in-Residence team at SCC, has worked and played
over the last few months engaging community members in a variety of arts activities
that map the sounds, people, growth, play spaces, and movements of the Sunset
Neighbourhood.


We Are Here has allowed community members to explore their neighborhood
through dance, sound, video, green graffiti, puppets and photography.
Now, together, with your friends and neighbours, we’ll get to walk through a giant
interactive map as we celebrate all the finished components of the project. Come
and experience an interactive, living picture of the Sunset neighbourhood.

JOIN US FOR DANCE AND PUPPET PERFORMANCES, FILM AND
SOUNDSCAPE INSTALLATIONS, AS WELL AS FREE REFRESHMENTS!

We are looking for your input to guide the vision and plan for the three facilities that serve the Sunset Community (the Sunset Community Centre, the Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre and the Sunset Ice Rink). Learn how you can get involved.

 
 

Sunset Community Centre Fitness CentreCome check out our Fitness Centre complete with
state-of-the-art equipment!

The fitness centre includes various machines such as:

  • Apex equipment: vertical row, vertical bench, leg curl, leg press, shoulder press, lat pulldown, duplex pulley and smith machine.
  • Cardio equipment: treadmills, crosstrainers, stairmaster, bikes. Abdominal crunch machine, medicine & body balls.
