Fall is always an exciting time of changes and restarts. I am pleased to update the community on a number of achievements by our board in recent months.

•     Finance Committee re-start.
•     Co-chairs for all committees.
•     Successful Canada Day event.
•     Purchase of new gym equipment.
•     Continued progress on permitting Sexsmith for operating
Out of School Care.
•     Supporting the successful Senior Programs at MACC.

I would also like to thank Sean Henry, Youth Worker and Lorrie Wager, Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre Programmer for all of their contributions to strengthening our community programs. We wish them well in their next career adventures.

The board have also been participating in the Revitalized Joint Operating Agreement process. Regular meetings, surveys, feedback reviews, proposed agreement sections reviews and discussions as a board on how to continue to make suggestions that support the best interests of the community that we serve. The fall session will mark the completion of this review process and we will update you on the outcomes.

As children return to school, it is a good time to restart your fitness or other interest programs. Joe Wong and Maggie Li have added another exciting program offering to find something for everyone to get out and explore new pursuits.

We welcome your voice and contribution and have openings on all of our committees for volunteers who want to know a bit more about their community centre and have their opinions heard. Please contact any member of the board to find a committee that is right for you!

Respectfully,
Greg Hubbard
President, Sunset Community Association
