VanSouth Emergency Preparedness Fair-April 30

Join us Saturday April 30th, 2017 for the 2nd Annual Vancouver-South Emergency Preparedness Fair at Walter Moberly Elementary School.

The Emergency Preparedness Fair is a fun and informative way to learn important tools in getting you and your family ready in the event of an emergency.
Emergencies happen with little or no warning. They can cause significant damage to your home through a fire or flooding from a burst pipe, or devastate our community through an earthquake, tsunami, or viral outbreak. You and your family can stay safe by having a plan and resources ready before a crisis happens.
We will have community members from the Vancouver Police Department, the Canadian Red Cross, and the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services there to assist you in learning about the resources and services they provide and to answer your questions.
Throughout the day, you’ll be able to view safety demonstrations, products to include in an emergency kit, information packets, and crafts and games for kids. You’ll also be able to watch the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services in action as they complete a rescue drill.
Date: Sunday, April 30th, 2017
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Walter Moberly Elementary School’s West Side Gymnasium, 1000 East 59th Avenue, Vancouver
Emergency Preparedness Week is May 7th – 13th and provides a perfect opportunity for you to practice what you learned at the fair and share your knowledge with friends and neighbours.
We hope you can join us on April 30th in getting our community ready to confidently respond to emergencies.
