A Theatre Performance
UNDER THE MANGO TREE
UNDER THE MANGO TREE explores the relationship between a father
and his estranged daughter. “It’s about a daughter’s love and yearning
for her father,” the playwright Dubois said of her play’s plot line. The
father lives in a small village and wants to find fame, fortune, and better
opportunities, so he leaves his family behind and immigrates to Canada.
The story follows the letters that the daughter and father exchange with
one another.
UNDER THE MANGO TREEis a one person performance by Veenesh
Dubois. Veenesh's desire for performing started at an early age and
developed through extended studies in voice and movement at Douglas
College and at Drama Works in Edmonton, Alberta. She has appeared in
over 30 commercials, in TV series, and on the stage.
UNDER THE MANGO TREEmade its world premier at the
Vancouver International Fringe Festival with packed houses
and standing ovations, receiving the much coveted "pick of the
fringe award.” Come and see this sweet tale of a father and
daughter’s love and a universal theme that touches us all.
