Skating lesson registration begins:
In-person w/report card or instructor assessment on Thursday,
August 7 at 12:30pm at Sunset Ice Rink and Sunset Community
Centre 6810 Main St.
Assessment for Fall lessons are done at the Rink during the following dates and times:
• Thursday 1:30 pm-2:45 pm, July 03-Aug 07
• Saturday 12:45 pm-2:00 pm, July 05-Aug 16 – (Note: August 02 not available!)
• Registration continues until all classes are full.
• Skate rental is $2.50/drop-in or $19.15/10 tickets.
• Park Board lessons are offered Thursday.
• Association lessons are offered Saturday.
Lessons are based on the Vancouver Park Board Learn to Skate Program. All participants will receive
progress reports on their skating skills.
2nd Set of Skating Lesson Registration – For Thursday
• Participants currently in Lessons w/report cards after lessons will be: October 30.
• For Saturday Lessons w/report cards after lessons will be: November 1.
• For participants currently not in skate lessons registration will take place: November 3rd at Sunset Ice Rink and Community Centre at 12:30pm
with a current report card or a assessment letter.

What to do on the
first day of lessons
- arrive at least 15-20 minutes early
- purchase skate rental or strip tickets at the
front office cashier desk on or before the
first lesson
- take your ticket to the skate shop, request
your skate and free use of helmet
- go to the name tag board and pick your
coloured name tag under the skate
level your child is registered
- Meet your skate instructor at the
coloured square cost matching
the colour of your child’s name
Association Lesson Refund Policy-Saturdays
Refund requests must be made 72 hours prior to the start of the third class. All refunds will be pro-rated and an administration fee of $5.00 will be applied on each program refunded. Refunds will be returned by method of payment, with the exception of cash. Cash refunds will be returned by cheque or debit. Full refunds will be issued for any programs cancelled by the Centre. Please note this policy does not apply to Sunset Preschool, Out of School Care and Daycamp programs.
Park Board Skating Lesson Refund Policy -Thursdays
A full refund will be given when the request is received more than 48 hours before the first session. Refund requests within 48 but before the first session will be assessed a $10 administration fee. Refund requests received after the program has started will be assessed a $10 administration fee and will be prorated based on the sessions remaining. Refunds for medical reasons (doctor note required) will not be charged the Administration Fee.
